Apatosaurus Brain Case

Development of an interactive interface for a public kiosk located on the Dinosaur Gallery at the Union Terminal. Guests can explore in real time the 3D model of the dinosaur's braincase.

Client: Cincinnati Museum Center

  • The Goal

    Offer an opportunity for visitors of the Cincinnati Museum Center’s Dinosaur Gallery to explore the digital 3D model of an Apatosaurus brain case and understand on how technology can assist on the study of dinosaurs.

  • UI Design

    The interface lets guests zoom and rotate the model, access information on specific features, and see past the ‘bone’ enclosure to reveal other components of the skull’s anatomy.

  • New Tools to Archaeology Research

    The experience combines a fun activity that entertains while educating and elightens visitors about the potential new technologies may bring to the archaeological field by supporting traditional methods of study and analysis.

    The Apatosaurus Brain Case Experience was recently adapted from the original kiosk setup to desktop and mobile screens and is currently included as part of the CMC In Hand digital enviroment
