Drill Instructor Interactive Experience

Virtual Grounds collaborated with the Parris Island Museum to create, develop, and install the Drill Instructor Interactive Experience available on an impressive in-gallery kiosk holding a 4K Ultra-HD 85-inch touchscreen display. The multimedia application showcases three US Marine Corps Drill Instructors delivering the iconic initial briefing to new recruits as they start their training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.

While the speech is always delivered in English, recognizing that many recruits hail from Spanish-speaking backgrounds, the application incorporates bilingual audio and subtitles. This provides a more inclusive experience for all guests and a helpful accomodation for individuals with limited English proficiency.

  • Dynamic UI

A sophisticated selection menu layout and a dynamic attractor loop complement the narrative in the museum gallery, conveying the message of modern recruit training for the Marine of Tomorrow. The application is powered by a compact, high-performance media player.
